More Travis Collins More Travis Collins

Countrytown in partnership with KIX Country is proud to announce singer-songwriter, Travis Collins as this week’s ‘Centre Stage’ artist. Every week we'll be shining a light on a single artist across all platforms including online features, airplay, and social support.

Collins began busking on Peel Street in Tamworth at age 11, and later attended the Academy of Country Music. He won Toyota Star Maker in 2004 at the age of 19, performing Bridge That You Won’t Burn – co-written with his father. The song later became his debut single before the release of his debut album, Start The Car, in 2005. No Boundaries (2007) and his self-titled third album (2011) followed.

Collins’ fourth album Wired (2015) reached #1 on the ARIA Country Albums Chart and produced #1 hits Boots On and Curves. That same year, he joined Adam Brand together with Drew McAlister, Matt Cornell and Mike Carr as Adam Brand and the Outlaws. Their self-titled album was nominated for ‘Best Country Album’ ARIA Award in 2016, following its January release. It peaked at #1 on both the ARIA Australian Country Albums and ARIA Australian Artist Albums charts and #6 on the ARIA Australian Albums chart.

Collin’s next record, Hard Light (2016) peaked at #2 on the ARIA Country Albums Chart. He was awarded the CMC ‘Male Artist of the Year’ for 2017 and 2018 and swept the Golden Guitar Awards in 2017 on the back of Hard Light, for ‘Male Vocalist of the Year’, ‘APRA AMCOS Song of the Year’, and ‘Single of the Year’. Hard Light also netted him three #1s including Call Me Crazy.

Our Backyard (2017) with Amber Lawrence secured a further three Golden Guitar wins – ‘Vocal Collaboration of the Year’, ‘APRA AMCOS Song of the Year’ and ‘Single of the Year’ – and his sixth release, Brave & The Broken (2018) received an ARIA Award nomination ‘Best Country Album’. His last album, Wreck Me, and its acoustic version dropped in 2020.

The triple CMAA ‘Male Artist of the Year’ and CMA Global Artist Award-winner has toured alongside US megastars Tim McGraw, Luke Combs and Billy Ray Cyrus, and recorded with Nashville’s best and brightest, including super-producer Luke Wooten

Collins has also previously collaborated with Jess Moskaluke, Adam Brand, Kevin Bennett and Samantha McClymont. Following the release of his next single, Just The Way this Friday, Collins will join Canadian platinum and award-winning artist, Dan Davidson on his collaboration single, Girl Drinks Beer, and play a co-headlining show in Hamilton, NSW on November 4.

Just The Way follows his current single One Of Them Nights – his first in two years – which currently sits at #6 on the Countrytown Hot 50 Country Airplay Chart and rising. One Of Them Nights is the first track lifted from his forthcoming album, due in 2023.

Recent years have seen Collins expanding his sound, songs, and live show, promising even bigger, better, and brighter things ahead – both onstage and in the studio. He is a regular mainstage fixture at Australia’s peak country music festivals, and routinely plays to sold-out crowds across the country. Collins will support Midland on their upcoming Australian tour.
