Never Say Never by Cole Swindell and Lainey Wilson – Song of the Day

Never Say Never by Cole Swindell and Lainey Wilson is our Song of the Day! The smouldering duet debuted on the Countrytown Hot 50 Country Airplay Chart in mid-January – and we predict it will climb.

Cole said, “I wrote Never Say Never with Jessi Alexander and Chase McGill in 2018 about a relationship you just can’t stay away from. I have been a fan of Lainey Wilson’s for a while now and what she brings to this song is everything it needed. So glad it’s finally out!”

Lainey added, “Things a Man Oughta Know was such an incredible ride, I can’t wait to get this next song out into the world and see where it leads. It makes the journey that much more special that I get to share it with a friend this time around—I’m looking forward to playing it for y’all and I’m sure Cole is too!” 

Directed by Michael Monaco, the music video was filmed at Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary outside of Knoxville and features the forbidden love of a prison guard and inmate. In an Instagram Live video, Lainey shared the video is based on a true story that took place where they filmed.

Never Say Never is the follow-up radio single to Cole’s back-to-back #1 hits Love You Too Late and most recently, his milestone multi-week, 10th career # hit Single Saturday Night. Never Say Never is also the follow-up single to Lainey’s #1 smash hit Things A Man Oughta Know, which is still streaming more than 3 million times each week since it peaked in September.

Cole recently announced his plans for his fourth album, Stereotype, along with the project’s cover art on social media. “Here we go!” he wrote in the caption of his post, and also dropped some details about the new batch of tunes. The record will be out in full on April 6, and in advance of its release, he’ll share a new song at midnight called I’m Gonna Let Her.”
