Cole Swindell has announced his fourth studio album, Stereotype, is getting the deluxe treatment. Featuring three new songs, Stereotype Broken is set for release on April 28.

Swindell wrote on social media, "My fourth studio album has done so much for us this past year. I felt we had a few more songs that deserved to be part of the project and I can’t wait for y’all to hear them."

To celebrate, we’re counting down our five favourite songs from the aforementioned album.

5. Down To The Bar with Hardy

You can’t fault the vocal collaboration between Swindell and HARDY in the song they co-wrote with Josh Thompson and the song’s producer, Jordan Schmidt. Swindell’s headline tour, of the same name, featured special guests Travis Denning and Ashley Cooke who also star in the Down To The Bar music video about a relationship on the rocks.

4. Single Saturday Night

Written by Swindell, Mark Holman, Ashley Gorley and Hardy, and produced by Michael Carter, Single Saturday Night was released in May 2020 as the lead single from Stereotype. The song peaked at #1 on the US Billboard Country Airplay Chart and #6 on the Australian Country Hot 50 Chart.

The music video was shot during quarantine and features Swindell and a few of his famous friends. With the help of green screen technology, after he falls asleep on the couch watching the news, Swindell wakes up to the beach, the desert, space and beyond.

3. Never Say Never with Lainey Wilson

Released in November 2021, Never Say Never was the second single released from his Stereotype album. It peaked at #1 on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart and #15 on the Countrytown Hot 50 Country Airplay Chart. It is certified gold in Canada and certified platinum in the United States.

Swindell stated in a press release, "I wrote Never Say Never with Jessi Alexander and Chase McGill in 2018 about a relationship you just can't stay away from. I have been a fan of Lainey Wilson's for a while now and what she brings to this song is everything it needed."

2. Drinkaby

Swindell’s latest single, Drinkaby is a feel-good banger and will be a welcome addition to Stereotype Broken. It was penned by Jon Pardi, Jordan Schmidt, HARDY and Hunter Phelps.

“From the first time I heard [Drinkaby], I pictured it being a huge show opener. The guitar lick in the intro just grabs you and doesn’t let you go,” Swindell said in a press release. “I’m not sure if there is such thing as a fun breakup song but that’s kind of what this is.”

"It reminds me of something that could have come out in the '90s, or come out five years ago or this week," he shared. “Obviously that sound is popular again... it just had that feeling of, I don't know. I remember being in college and covering these songs and wishing that I had a song like this to play."

1. She Had Me At Heads Carolina

Peaking at #6 on the Countrytown Hot 50 Country Airplay Chart, the song is a reference to Jo Dee Messina's 1996 debut single Heads Carolina, Tails California. The duo later released a remix of She Had Me At Heads Carolina following their performance at the 2022 CMA Awards.

According to Swindell, "It sounds a lot like the original song, but the lyrics are changed and it’s a whole different viewpoint."
