It fills our hearts with festive joy and cheer to be able to bring you the official lyric video of Lucie Tiger’s latest single Christmas In The South in this exclusive premiere

The holiday track beckons us to a happy place where family and friends come together to share Season’s Greetings, good cheer, and a beer or two. By the time the chorus comes around, Lucie’s infectious blend of hope and nostalgia hits that sweet spot and we’re singing along out loud.

She says, “In the south” refers to Alabama. I had a whole heap of friends from there telling me what they were getting up to for Christmas and I was so jealous."

Lucie wrote the song last Christmas when the pandemic kept family and friends apart. Like so many people, she hankered for happier times when she could share a drink with friends, sing along to classic songs on the radio while she puts up the tinsel and hugs her mama.

The song has already seen success in the Music Row Breakout Artist Chart, making Lucie the only Australian independent artist to have had four songs in the chart since 2021. This puts her up there with Keith Urban and Morgan Evans as the most successful Aussie acts on the chart.

With a year of fires, floods and pandemic, Christmas In The South came together in the studio in a joyous way as soon as travel permitted. Written and performed by Lucie (acoustic guitar, vocals), the single features Brad Kuhn (keys), Will McFarlane (electric guitar), Bob Wray (bass), and Justin Holder (percussion) and was produced by John Gifford.

Born and raised in the Sydney region, Lucie grew up listening to 1970s rock and Southern artists like The Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, Dolly Parton, The Rolling Stones etc. during long family road trips. She turned those childhood memories into a career, channelling that classic sound with a fresh feel.

Her music blends truth with hope along with buried treasure in her lyrics for those searching out her inspirations and her songs are coloured with a hefty dose of good old Americana charm and subtle hallmarks of the blues. Her heavy influences include The Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd as well as more modern touches of RaeLynn, Jason Isbell and Miranda Lambert.

This is a bumper season for Lucie, her album Alabama Highway debuted at #14 on the ARIA Country Albums chart and #10 on the AIR (Australian Independent Record Label) Albums Chart plus The Memphis Tapes debuted at #7 on the AIR Albums Chart. Lucie has also been selected as one of the Top 30 Writers On The Rise for the Muscle Shoals Songwriters Festival (USA), November 2022.

Lucie is also a winner of the prestigious Tamworth Songwriters Association Award for Best Country Blues song in 2021 and has had multiple nominations for Australian Songwriter Association Awards.

Four of Lucie’s latest singles also featured on the Countrytown Hot 50 Country Airplay ChartFound My Home reached #20, Do Me Right peaked at #36 and Midnight Goodbye charted at #34.

A respected songwriter, Lucie’s song Gasoline won ‘Country Blues Song of the Year’ at the Tamworth Songwriters Awards 2021. Two of her songs (Midnight Goodbye and Found My Home) are short-listed for the annual Australian Songwriters Association Awards 2022, and she’s been industry-nominated twice for the ‘Rudy Brandsma Award’ for ‘Songwriting Excellence’ by the ASA.

She released her debut self-titled EP in 2018, Apple Tree in 2019 and Gasoline in 2020. Tracks from the latter have also been played on over 40 Country radio stations in the USA.
