After 17 years, Jason Aldean’s publicity firm, The GreenRoom, has parted ways with the country singer.

“Music has always been and remains The GreenRoom’s core focus, so we had to make the difficult decision after 17 years to step away from representing Jason,” The GreenRoom’s co-owner Tyne Parrish told Billboard in a statement. “We aren’t the best people for the gig anymore but will always be big fans of his music — he is one of the greatest live entertainers in country music.”

The split follows a social media post by Aldean’s wife, influencer Brittany Aldean, that many considered transphobic.

On Wednesday, August 24, Brittany shared an Instagram video of herself putting on makeup to Beyonce and Jay-Z’s Upgrade U. In the caption, she wrote, “I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase. I love this girly life.”

Country singer RaeLynn, as well as the wives of country singers Jon Pardi, Shay Mooney and Granger Smith were among those to leave comments showing support on Brittany’s posts.

But elsewhere, country stars slammed Brittany.

On August 26, Cassadee Pope  took to Twitter, writing, “You’d think celebs with beauty brands would see the positives in including LGBTQ+ people in their messaging. But instead, here we are, hearing someone compare their “tomboy phase” to someone wanting to transition. Real nice.”

Maren Morris replied to Pope’s tweet, adding, “It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie.”

Brittany responded on August 31 with a ‘Barbie-inspired’ collection of new merchandise, captioning the picture with a statement about how her words have been taken out of context.

"Per usual, my words have been taken out of context over the last week," she writes. "Instead of getting twisted about the twisting of my words, I’ve chosen to bring some good out of it."

Brittany previously launched a conservative clothing line that included items emblazoned with ‘Anti Biden Social Club’. Following that launch, in October 2021, Aldean defended his wife’s actions, writing on Instagram, “I will never apologize for my beliefs or my love for my family and country. This is the greatest country in the world, and I want to keep it that way.”
