More The Wolfe Brothers More The Wolfe Brothers

When Tom Wolfe from The Wolfe Brothers let slip last month at the Golden Guitar Awards in Tamworth that he and his wife Ally were expecting their second child, a daughter, later this year, we assumed that would be the last we’d hear about it until the baby’s birth.

But – we thought wrong.

Following the dual GG wins, the bassist for the Tasmanian country duo took to social media to share the unusual way he and Ally found out they were expecting a girl in his coined “redneck gender reveal”.

Armed with a shotgun, Tom captioned, “Well I might of got really excited and let it slip at the Golden Guitars that we have another girl on the way… But we did this on a camping trip recently!”

Well I might of got really excited at the Golden Guitars and told everybody! But we recently went away with a few mates and did a little Gender Reveal! 😂❤️ Lucky I didn’t miss 😜

Tom and Ally welcomed daughter Evelyn Millie Wolfe on April 17, 2021, at 5.04pm.

Since their second place finish on Australia’s Got Talent in 2012, the Tasmanian brothers have taken home two CMC Awards and six Golden Guitar Awards, been nominated for three ARIA awards as well as one AIR Award. They have recorded with Brad Paisley and toured with Gord Bamford, Lee Kernaghan, Caitlyn Shadbolt, Jody Direen and Christie Lamb to name a few.

They have earned themselves a solid reputation for their catchy singles and dynamic live shows, while constantly pushing the envelope with their songwriting and delighting fans with their honest approach. Their current radio single, What You Make It recently earned them their 17th consecutive number one.

“We've written many songs with [Phil Barton] and usually due to our shared love of big anthems, we usually end up shooting for something in that zone,” said Nick Wolfe. “It was really nice to write something in a different headspace with Phil this time. In many ways this is my favourite lyric on the record. It talks about how things are just things until you attach a memory to them, and then simple objects or places can come to mean so much more. If you've followed our band for a while and know our history, I think you'll see how honest and 'us' this lyric is.”

What You Make It comes off their fifth studio album. Kids On Cassette was the highest chart debut of any of The Wolfe Brothers albums, landing on the ARIA Official Country Album Chart at #1, the ARIA Official Australian Album Chart at #2 and the ARIA Official All Genre Chart at #6. An ARIA nomination in the 2021 awards followed for ‘Best Country Album’, as did a Country Music Association International Award nomination in the ‘Jeff Walker Global Country Artist Award’, alongside artists from the UK, Sweden and Canada.
