Multiple ARIA and Golden Guitar winner, Shane Nicholson is now a father of three, after his partner Emma gave birth on September 17.

'Jude Marcus Nicholson' joins Nicholson’s two children from his previous marriage to fellow country music singer-songwriter, Kasey Chambers – son Arlo Ray (2007) and daughter Poet Poppin (2011).

Nicholson shared on social media, “Hi, my name is Jude Marcus Nicholson. I arrived on 17 September 2022 and have been effortlessly cute ever since. My mum is amazing, and after a pretty rough ride is now recovering well. Don’t worry about that tube in my nose… that’s just because I’m too sleepy to eat. I enjoy listening to my dad sing me Grateful Dead song.”

Nicholson recently joined Paul Field’s music brand Peachy Keen on its third album, Nursery Rhymes. It follows Lullabies (released in June 2022) and the critically acclaimed Animal Songs, which went straight to #1 on the iTunes Children’s Chart in May.

To date, the Australian singer-songwriter and producer has recorded 11 studio albums. He has received three ARIA awards, including for his solo album Hell Breaks Loose in 2015 and for his hit collaborations with Chambers – Rattlin’ Bones (2008) and Wreck & Ruin (2012). He has also won 11 CMAA Golden Guitar awards, including the 2021 ‘Song of the Year’ for The High Price of Surviving, as well as two APRA awards.

His latest album, Living In Colour, released in 2021, is Nicholson in different hues: trusting and cynical, father and friend, sometimes buoyant and in love, beginning to have faith in the world, other times struggling to make sense of the same world that can rip your heart right out.
