Seaforth have taken to social media to explain why they don’t sing in their native Australian accents.

In the two-part social media video series titled ‘Why we don’t sing in an Australian accent’, they captioned, “And now you know…” You can watch part one here or part two here.

Popular songs given the Aussie twist include Morgan Wallen’s Last Night, The BeatlesLet It Be, Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Sweet Home Alabama and Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off. Additionally, they take a crack at Whole New World from Disney’s Aladdin and more.

Childhood friends from three-years-old, Tom Jordan and Mitch Thompson found themselves drawn to similar music, listening to modern songwriters like Keith Urban one minute and old-school acts like The Beatles the next. The duo grew up in the suburb of Seaforth in New South Wales and moved to Nashville in 2017 to develop their songwriting.

They released their debut EP, Love That, in 2019. The title track made waves on country radio and earned more than 43 million streams. They collaborated with Mitchell Tenpenny on their follow-up single Anything She Says, which was gold-certified and surpassed 79 million streams.

In 2020, they were awarded the APRA Award for ‘Breakthrough Songwriter Of The Year’. Their 2022 EP, What I Get For Loving You, featured their viral hit Breakups, Good Beer featuring Jordan Davis, Queen Of Daytona Beach featuring Sean Kingston, and the title track.

Fresh from appearances at the 50th CMA Fest in Nashville earlier this month, Seaforth released Get The Girl. Co-written with Rocky Block and Jordan Dozzi, Get The Girl once again features a strong, catchy, hook-heavy tone, staying true to Seaforth’s signature modern melodic sound.

Blending country, pop and ‘80s elements, Get The Girl was born from personal experiences with a twist on love. This self-produced track marks the popular duo’s first independent release after leaving Sony Nashville, a milestone in their journey.

After an amicable parting of ways with Sony Nashville – which saw them move from their hometown of Sydney to Nashville in 2017, getting signed, earning multiple Gold records, and sharing the stage with major US country artists at festival appearances, international tours and most recently a headline US tour – the duo are now pumped to be commencing a new journey as independent artists.

Seaforth said, “We’re more excited and driven than ever with this new chapter of independence. So much has happened in six years since we moved to Nashville at 23. Sony was great to us and supported us in tough times, but naturally our ambitions have grown/developed over time. We’ve never wanted to fit a mould, our goal has always been to create the best music possible, as we believe that’s what matters most to people.”
