Sam Hunt has will be celebrating Mother’s Day with a gift for everyone this year – he’s announced the release of a brand new song, Women In My Life, dropping this Friday (May 12).

He shared the news on Instagram, where fans can also hear a snippet of the tune. So go the heartwarming lyrics he sings with a cruisy twang: "I wouldn't know a house from a loving home / Ten-thirty sharp from the crack of dawn / where the forks go or how to find the Book of Psalms / or good cobbler peaches / I wouldn't sing Aretha or rake the leaves / Watch my mouth in mixed company / Probably wouldn't put up a Christmas tree or spoil all my nieces…”

Mother’s Day this year falls on Sunday May 12, and it’s likely Hunt will be celebrating the day itself with his wife, Hannah Lee Fowler – just last month, the couple revealed they’re expecting their second child together. They welcomed their first daughter, Lucy, last June.

Women In My Life will be Hunt’s third single for the year, thus far having dropped Walmart back in February and Outskirts in March. He’s yet to announce his next full-length effort, but it shouldn’t be too far away – his second album, Southside, arrived in April of 2020.

Last year, Hunt made waves for cancelling his appearance the Boots & Hearts Festival in Canada, citing its requirement that punters be vaccinated against COVID-19. “We were hopeful these restrictions would be lifted as the date got closer, but it’s now apparent that won’t happen,” he wrote in a statement at the time.

He’d previously made headlines for his up-and-down relationship with Fowler – she filed for divorce from Hunt last February, citing adultery, before they made up and resumed their marriage just a few months later.
