Luke Bryan Suddenly Postpones Utah Show: 'I Am Just Not Getting Better'

Luke Bryan has suddenly postponed his show in Salt Lake City, Utah, which would’ve taken place on Friday, 4 August, at the USANA Amphitheatre. Thankfully, the postponement isn’t too far away, with Bryan booking the show for 31 August.

The announcement, which Bryan gave context to on Twitter, arrived hours before the show was due to start.

Explaining that he’s been fighting a head cold for weeks and still isn’t well enough to perform, Bryan wrote, “Dear Salt Lake fans, for the past couple of weeks I’ve been battling a head cold.”

The One Margarita singer added, “I have been spending those days warming up and singing and have been able to perform. Today I have followed the same routine trying to not give up, but I am just not getting better. 

“I truly can not give you the show I want to give so I am going to have to postpone tonight’s show at USANA Amphitheatre to August 31, 2023. Thank you so much for understanding.”

As Country Now reports, Bryan has a stacked weekend of shows ahead of him, with the singer scheduled to perform at the Ford Idaho Centre Amphitheatre in Boise, Idaho, on Saturday (5 August) and due to headline the Watershed Music Festival at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington, on Sunday. Whether or not those gigs go ahead after a Friday cancellation is uncertain.

This was supposed to be a celebratory week for Bryan, with the American Idol judge dropping his new single, But I Got A Beer In My Hand, earlier this week. You can watch the music video below.

This November, Bryan and Peyton Manning will host the 2023 Country Music Association Awards (CMA Awards), following their success in the role at the 2022 ceremony.

2023 will mark Bryan’s third consecutive year as host of the CMA Awards, having tackled the job independently in 2021. With Manning at his side, he wowed the audience at last year’s event, where winners included Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, Elle King, Marcus King, Cole Swindell, Morgan Wallen, and Zac Brown Band.
