Raised in Wangi Wangi, near Newcastle, Setterfield grew up listening to a variety of artists including George Strait, Keith Urban, Mötley Crüe, Poison, Def Leppard and Elvis Presley (thanks to his grandfather who played bass in a band) and most genres notably classics from the 50s, 80s, pop punk and country. He started playing guitar and drums as a kid, as well as songwriting.

After rebelling as a teenager and listening to bands like Rancid, NOFX, Good Charlotte and Simple Band, Setterfield began his professional music career playing drums in a The Living End cover band. He later fronted the pop punk band Call The Shots for seven years. Before they disbanded, their highlights included touring with The Offspring and Simple Plan.

Setterfield transitioned from pop punk frontman-to-solo country entertainer in 2016. He has since released three EPs – Live It Up (2016), From Dusk (2017) and Till Dawn (2019), all of which debuted in the top 5 on the iTunes country charts and have accrued over one million streams.

Building a loyal fanbase around the country with a unique sound, Setterfield has delivered knockout performances at major festivals including Savannah in the Round, Groundwater Country Music Festival, Gympie Music Muster, Deni Ute Muster and Tamworth Country Music Festival and alongside noteworthy names like American country band Love and Theft, Casey Barnes, The Wolfe Brothers, Shannon Noll, Travis Collins, The Viper Creek Band and more.
