Guy Sebastian And Shannon Noll Reunite For Duet At Sydney Opera House

Twenty years after their iconic showdown for the top spot for Australian Idol 2003, Aussie singers Guy Sebastian and Shannon Noll have reunited for an epic duet at Guy's concert at the Sydney Opera House on Sunday (Nov. 10).

In an epic moment for the crowd watching on, Guy introduced his former reality TV rival for an energetic rendition of What About Me, the Moving Pictures song that Shannon released as a cover back in 2004 — but not before hugging the Australian Idol runner-up to cheers from the audience.

The performance went down well with fans of the pair, with one commenting on a video of the duet, “2 of Australia's finest.”

Another added, “Okay we need a 20th anniversary release with them both 😍”

Earlier this year, the duo brushed off longtime rivalry rumours when they shared a snap posing together on Shannon's Instagram.

“Great to see my mate @guysebastian today!” Shannon wrote in the caption, adding, “We were doing a shoot at Maroubra and he called in to say g’day! Always great to catch up! 🤙🏻”

Guy replied in the comments, “Made my day brother. You’re the king.”

The epic duet comes after news earlier this week that Shannon Noll had “heroically” dragged a young woman from a fiery car wreck on Saturday (Nov. 9) in northern New South Wales, 16km south of Casino.

Upon witnessing the fiery crash, Noll pulled the trapped 18-year-old passenger from the car and began performing CPR until paramedics arrived on the scene at about 8.50 pm, as per the Daily Telegraph.

Sadly, despite the What About Me singer’s best efforts, the woman died at the scene. A male driver, also aged 18, also died on the scene.

Noll later later described the event as a “tragedy” to the Daily Telegraph.

“I just reacted and did what I could to assist the young woman at the scene,” he said.

“Our prayers and condolences go out to their families at this terribly sad time.”

Meanwhile, a volunteer rescue worker described the moment Noll arrived on the scene, saying he “heroically” leapt into action, as he tried to pull the women from the fiery car wreck.

“He’s pretty much got her away from the car as much as he could and heroically done what he could before the police and that arrived,” they said.
