More The Wolfe Brothers More The Wolfe Brothers

Countrytown in partnership with KIX Country is proud to announce Tasmanian duo, The Wolfe Brothers as this week’s ‘Centre Stage’ artist. Every week we'll be shining a light on a single artist across all platforms including online features, airplay, and social support.

Brothers Nick and Tom Wolfe come from four generations of farmers and musicians. They grew up surrounded by various instruments and music (mainly a mix of country and pub rock on cassette). They began attending gigs from a young age with their father, a drummer in a local cover band, who inspired them to go into the music industry. The duo were putting on little house concerts as pre-schoolers and they started playing their first live shows in their early teens. Tom began learning piano at 5, while Nick was guided to the guitar.

Following the release of their self-titled EP, they competed on Australia’s Got Talent in 2012, where they placed second behind Andrew De Silva. They were invited to open and back Lee Kernaghan on his Beautiful Noise Tour, releasing their debut studio album It’s On that same year.

In 2014, The Wolfe Brothers released their second studio album, Nothin’ But Trouble. Albums Live At CMC Rocks QLD 2015, This Crazy Life (2016), Country Heart (2018) and Kids On Cassette (2021) followed. The latter three were all ARIA Award nominated for ‘Best Country Album’.

They have earned themselves a solid reputation for their catchy singles and dynamic live shows, while constantly pushing the envelope with their songwriting and delighting fans with their honest approach. They have recorded with Brad Paisley and toured with the likes of Canada’s Gord Bamford, Lee Kernaghan, Caitlyn Shadbolt, Jody Direen and Christie Lamb to name a few.

2022 has already been massive for The Wolfe Brothers. Aside from celebrating their 17th consecutive #1 country single on the Australian National Country Radio Charts, including What You Make It, the duo also took home two Golden Guitars – ‘Capital News Group or Duo of the Year’ and ‘Contemporary Country Album of the Year’ for their latest release Kids On Cassette.

Co-produced by Nick and Rod McCormack, their latest single, Livin’ The Dream’ is off their forthcoming album of the same name, due for release in April 2023.

Nick says, “Sonically, Livin' the Dream is a conscious decision by us to get back to our country roots. We explored a lot of pop and rock territory on our last album, but we want to come out of the gate swinging country style and give everyone a taste of what's to come for the rest of this record that we're really proud of!”
