The soaring song, written by Janson, Tommy Cecil, and Tom Douglas, speaks on that transitional time when you’ve grown out of youthful partying and start embracing life in a whole new way – realising that "you can’t be 21 forever" and understanding the beauty of growing up.

“I’m so thrilled to announce that two global icons have joined me on my latest song," Janson said in a statement. "This is my absolute biggest collaboration to date. Dolly and Slash - it doesn’t get any BIGGER than that! I’m incredibly humbled and grateful for these two.”

21 Forever follows All I Need Is You. Both songs will feature on his forthcoming album, which will be his first since signing to BMLG after parting ways with Warner Music Nashville last September.

Parton also has a handful of collaborations in the works for her upcoming tentatively titled Rock Star album, including Sir Paul McCartney, P!nk, John Fogerty, John 5, Stevie Nicks, Steve Perry (Journey), Steven Tyler (Aerosmith), Cher and Brandi Carlile

On the talk show, The View, Parton told the panel, "If I’m going to be in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, I better do something to earn it, so I’m doing a rock ‘n’ roll album, and I’m having a lot of the rock stars that I met that night be on the album with me."

Parton was inducted into the Rock And Rock Hall Of Fame in 2022.

Slash, however, played the 2023 CMT Music Awards as part of a tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd. He and Guns N’ Roses have also performed live with Carrie Underwood multiple times.
