Blake Shelton will become the 2,775th person to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame next week, Country Now reports.

Earning the star for his “outstanding achievements in the music industry” – nine Grammy Award nominations, 28 #1 hit songs, long-standing coach on The Voice, humanitarian efforts and member of the Oklahoma Hall Of Fame – the country music superstar will receive the honour next Friday, 12 May, at 11:30 am PT.

You can live-stream Shelton joining the Walk Of Fame through its website – that’s 4:30 am Saturday AEST. Ouch.

Walk Of Fame producer Ana Martinez said via a press release: “Blake Shelton is one of the music and television world’s most popular entertainers.

“He keeps The Voice audiences in stitches with his witty banter and he has captured many fan’s hearts with his soulful country voice. To think that he began his career at the age of 17 is amazing. We are proud to have him join the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”

Shelton will depart from the big red chair on The Voice after season 23, which is currently airing. He joined the cast in 2011 and has been the sole remaining fixture ever since.

In a social media post, Shelton wrote:

“I’ve been wrestling with this for a while, and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step away from The Voice after season 23. This show has changed my life in every way for the better and it will always feel like home to me.

“It’s been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns and I want to thank everyone at The Voice from NBC, every producer, the writers, musicians, crew and catering people, you are the best. It takes a lot of work, passion, and adult beverages (ha!) to pull off a live show twice a week. I’ve made lifelong bonds with Carson [Daly] and every single one of my fellow coaches over the years, including my wife, Gwen Stefani.

“I have to give a huge shoutout to the singers - the ‘Voices’, who come on this stage season after season and amaze us with their talent and a special thanks to those who chose me to be their coach. Lastly, it’s about y'all, the fans, who watch and support these artists, us coaches and everyone at The Voice who are chasing their dreams. It would not happen without you.”
