Bella Mackenzie had an impressive run on the 2023 season of The Voice Australia, getting all the way to the Semi-Final before losing the final place on Guy Sebastian’s team to Charlie Pittman.

The Mackay singer previously teased her Semi-Final performance, revealing that she was singing a song by an Australian icon and dedicating the performance to her grandfather, Feno.

The song ended up being Two Strong Hearts by John Farnham. An absolutely massive Australian rock song, Mackenzie gave it her all, offering a little country twang to a song we all know very well.

Reflecting on her journey throughout the competition, Mackenzie wrote on Instagram last night (24 September), “My journey on The Voice Australia has come to an end but my music journey has just begun…

“Thank you so much Guy Sebastian for guiding me through this process and helping me not only grow as an artist but also as a young adult in this industry. I couldn’t be more grateful.”

Praising her teammate, she added about Pittman, “You are my favourite!! Such a talented human being and an even better personality to match. I am so so blessed to have met you through this experience and I know that we will have each other for the rest of our lives. love youu so much 💓💓 so beyond proud of you Charlie”.

“Well that’s my piece! Thanks so much for your support everyone, can’t wait to get this show on the road and meet you all in person!”

You can watch her performance of Two Strong Hearts below.

Mackenzie found her place on the 2023 season of The Voice Australia by auditioning with her rendition of Taylor Swift’s Anti-Hero. Her audition caught the attention of all four judges on the show – Sebastian, Rita Ora, Jessica Mauboy and Jason Derulo – and she chose Sebastian as her coach.

Mackenzie advanced to the Semi-Final earlier this month, locking in her place with a unique cover of the Journey classic, Don’t Stop Believin’.

She was the sole country singer to make it to the Semi-Final after Cohuna-based singer Dan Daniels and icons of the genre, The Bushwackers, were eliminated earlier throughout the season.
