Gold Coast singer Chloe Styler’s gorgeous stylings of pop-meets-country music have wooed audiences over the last year (and won Countrytown’s heart), and she’s only going to win over more fans with the stunning Hometownless.

Anchored by a steady bass line and drum beat, Styler attempts to “find my place again” while facing Hometownless again. “Never know where I’m going, but I know where I’ve got to land,” she sings in a breathy, almost-falsetto range before getting to the bridge and final chorus.

It’s just over three minutes of pop-country perfection – warm, comforting and just enough elements of country music to stay true to her roots.

Styler said about the track, “Hometownless captures the feeling of going through a breakup and realising you're left searching for a new place to call home once more. I co-wrote this song with my long-time friend and collaborator, Jason Resch (Darlinghurst), and we decided to liken a person to a hometown in a relationship.”

On the music video, which was created by videographer Jazmyn Smith, Styler added, “We had planned for a day of filming with blue skies and luscious Gympie fields, however, a storm rolled in during the afternoon, forcing us inside and to rely on our back up plan.

“So, think soft pastels, flowers (both in my hands and my hair!) and gorgeous landscapes. I’m so proud of the team and what we created!”

The music video finds Styler sitting on a wooden chair, singing to the camera, and wandering and lying through fields with a nostalgic layered filter over her every move. You can check it out below.

Hometownless comes from her upcoming EP, Side B, which follows her November 2022 release, Side A. Side B will be released on Friday, 4 August – you can pre-save the EP here.

To celebrate the release of Side B, Styler will play an EP Launch show at South Brisbane’s It's Still A Secret on Thursday, 10 August. You can buy your tickets here.

Last month, Styler was one of the fortunate Australian artists to perform at Nashville’s CMA Festival. “I’M HEADING TO NASHVILLE !!!” Styler exclaimed on Instagram. “I cannot believe I get to type this sentence, but I’m performing at the 50th CMA fest in June. Catch me on the Spotlight Stage inside Fan Fair X singin’ my songs… P.S. 15-year-old me is absolutely losing her mind right now (as is 26-year-old me tbh).”

On Countrytown’s wrap-up of Aussie artists’ adventures in Nashville, we tracked Styler’s movements from before CMA, playing at the festival, and, of course, what she got up to afterwards. Styler left for Nashville with her dad in early June.

Within the first 24 hours of arriving in Nashville, she saw Dierks Bentley and Molly Tuttle in concert, performed for Apple Music, caught up with Jake Davey and Chelsea Berman and went on a studio tour.

Styler later performed her first international show for Sounds Australia and APRA AMCOS before hitting the CMA Fest spotlight stage and performing to a large crowd. Styler also took in some of Nashville’s iconic sights and caught up with many fellow Aussies.
