Golden Guitar and CMC Award winner (and new Mum to Charlotte Rose English), Christie Lamb will release her fourth studio album, Truth, on September 30. Produced by Stuart Stuart, the album was recorded remotely between his Brisbane studio and Christie’s home in Sydney.

The album features the radio hits Kiss About It, Up All Night featuring Timothy James Bowen, Beat Of My Own Drum and the new single Three Chords And A Woman’s Truth. Co-written in Nashville by Christie with Jonathan English and Victoria Banks, the latest single is an ode to the strong women that Christie has admired.

She says, “I was thinking about my truth and all of my influences over the years. I wanted this song to combine my life story with all queens of country that I grew up listening to like Dolly, Tammy, and Loretta. My teenage years were influenced by Shania, Carrie, and Gretchen, along with some of my favourite Aussie ladies including Kasey, Beccy, Gina and Tania.”

To learn more, we spoke to Christie about an album that changed her life.

Christie Lamb On Come On Over by Shania Twain:

“If I had to pick one album that has changed my life and made the biggest impact on me, I would have to say it’s Come on Over by the amazing Shania Twain. The album was released when I was just 5 years old, but the radio singles were released over the next 3 years.

Like most 5-year-old girls at the time, I was listening to the Spice Girls, but I clearly remember the first time I saw the lady in the leopard print hooded pantsuit on Rage one Saturday morning singing That Don’t Impress Me Much.

I loved everything about her – the music, the video, the story, the style, and the attitude. I found myself wanting to be just like Shania!

The album is country pop and mainly filled with up-tempo hits. Out of the 16 album tracks, 12 of those were actually singles, which is just unheard of nowadays!

Come on Over became the highest selling country album and the highest selling solo female album of any genre in USA. Her music sales globally have not only broken records but have stood the test of time.

Most gigs we play, we have multiple requests to play some Shania. My personal favourite tracks are Man I Feel Like A Woman, That Don’t Impress Me Much, Honey I’m home and From This Moment.

I recently released my new single Three Chords And A Woman’s Truth, which is a song about all the female country artists who have influenced me growing up. Shania features heavily in the lyrics and also in the music video too.

Shania’s ability as a songwriter to blend genres of music and her sense of fashion have been a huge influence on my life and musical career to date. She has broken barriers to reach unbelievable career highs and is certainly one of the ladies I look up to the most!”
