Last week, Golden Guitar and CMC Award winner, Christie Lamb released her brand-new single, Three Chords And A Woman’s Truth.

Co-written in Nashville by Christie with Jonathan English and Victoria Banks, the idea behind the song came from a brainstorming session on the plane trip over to the US.

Christie says, “I was thinking about my truth and all of my influences over the years. I wanted this song to combine my life story with all queens of country that I grew up listening to like Dolly, Tammy, and Loretta. My teenage years were influenced by Shania, Carrie, and Gretchen, along with some of my favourite Aussie ladies including Kasey, Beccy, Gina and Tania.”

She adds, “This song has many artists and song titles woven into my personal story. I wanted to celebrate all these strong female country singers in this song and let them know how they have influenced me in my life and music too”.

When it came to the music video, premiering exclusively with Countrytown, Christie wanted to visually highlight these inspiring women.

She says, “I wanted to honour the ladies of country on the big screen behind me. My outfit was inspired by Dolly and our shared love of bling, but I thought a single stool and spotlight on a big stage would give it that Grand Ole Opry feel.”

Three Chords And A Woman’s Truth follows Beat Of My Own Drum, Up All Night featuring Timothy James Bowen and Kiss About Itall lifted from Christie's upcoming fourth album.

Described as ‘the full package’, the multi-instrumental and award-winning singer-songwriter was awarded the CMC Awards for ‘New Oz Artist of the Year’ in 2015 and ‘Female Artist of the Year’ in 2018 and was the recipient of the 2016 Golden Guitar Award for ‘New Talent of the Year.’

In 2019, she released her third studio album, Broken Lines which debuted at #1 on the iTunes Country Album Chart and #1 on the ARIA Country Album Chart. The first single Hot Hot Kiss debuted at #1 on the iTunes Country Charts. The remix also debuted at #1 on the iTunes Dance Charts, making Christie the first Australian artist to have #1 hits on both iTunes charts.

Christie has toured relentlessly with her own dates across Australia and New Zealand and is quite the regular face on the festival scene. She has been a part of national tours with Lee Kernaghan for years, opening the show and playing piano and mandolin as part of his band. Earlier tours have included two years with Aussie legend Jon English as the lead female vocalist and musician on ‘The Rock Revolution’ tour, ‘The Girls of Country’ tour with Amber Lawrence and Aleyce Simmonds, plus ‘This Crazy Life’ tour with The Wolfe Brothers.

After over ten years of releasing country singles, Christie is very excited to go back to her country roots for the release of her 19th country radio single Three Chords And A Woman’s Truth. The rest of the year will see Christie releasing her brand-new album and touring for the last quarter of 2022. She's also due to give birth to her first child in September.
