Platinum-selling, award winning Canadian country star, Jess Moskaluke dropped her catchy new single, Knock Off back in July. Since then, the southern twang infused, breakup anthem has risen to #18 on the Countrytown Hot 50 Country Airplay Chart and is still climbing.

Citing déjà vu from an ex-lover’s replacement for the real thing, the track showcases a revamped sound for the JUNO Award-winning and multiple CCMA Award-winning artist who continuously breaks barriers with her versatility, recently channelling a more pop-rock inspired country.

"I always strive to make sure every song I write is authentic to my sound and who I am, and I never want two songs to sound the same,” Jess says. “For Knock Off, I knew I wanted to lean into those 90’s country artists that have influenced my music today. Growing up I loved listening to Faith Hill, Shania Twain, Martina McBride, and Terri Clark - and I’m excited to share a little bit of my take on that sound in this song."

The accompanying music video premieres today exclusively on Countrytown.

“We wanted to stray from the direct lyrical narrative of the song for this video. To me, it was important to highlight the message that you are one of a kind, and completely irreplaceable.”

The first Canadian female country artist since Twain to achieve CRIA Platinum single status with the hit Cheap Wine and Cigarettes, Jess has since gone on to earn CRIA Gold certifications for Take Me Home, Kiss Me Quiet and a nod for her feature on Paul Brandt’s I’m An Open Road.

She was also notably the first Canadian female country artist since 2008 to have a song in the top 3 with Drive Me Away and has notched another six top 10 hits in addition to that including her first ever #1 Country Girls

Other accolades include winning the 2017 JUNO Award for ‘Country Album of the Year’, the 2018 CCMA Award for ‘Album of the Year’ and the 2020 WCM Award for ‘Country Artist of the Year’. Jess is also the three-time consecutive CCMA ‘Female Artist of the Year’ Award winner.

Kicking off 2020 with Country Girls topping the charts, Jess’ follow-up track Halfway Home landed in the top 5 at Australian country radio, where in 2019, she played the C2C Music Festival and took part in CMC’s ‘Songs and Stories’ series, performing six songs for a one-hour special.

She delivered her top 15 single Mapdot, a personal ode to small-town pride and the place she’s proud to call home, ahead of the release of The Demos in February, which features her collaboration with our very own Travis Collins.
