More Briana Dinsdale More Briana Dinsdale

Emerging country artist, Briana Dinsdale has always had a natural affinity for music. The Brisbane-based eighteen-year-old songwriter been honing her craft since she began writing songs at the age of six to become the artist she is today. Although she receives inspiration from a number of artists such as Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris and Taylor Swift, Briana combines a variety of compositional elements to form her unique and authentic sound.

The CMAA Academy of Country Music Keith Urban Scholarship recipient recently released the third track from her 2021 debut album. I’ll Run To You follows her previous singles Ball and Chain and Why Did I Fall For You?, both of which received international airplay on country and independent radio stations, in addition to charting on multiple indie country charts around the world.

We caught up with Briana to find out what songs she’s listening to for this week’s Front Deck Boom Box.

Good Man - Melody Moko

This song by Melody Moko is just insane. I remember the first time I heard it – my jaw couldn’t shut. The lyrics, chords and overall unique structure of the song is out of this world, but honestly, coming from Melody, I’m not surprised. There hasn’t been a song of hers I have disliked, and I think it is because she puts her whole gut into the process, which I admire dearly.

Holding Pattern - Camille Trail and Brad Butcher

Holding Pattern is such a raw, honest and relatable song for so many people. It’s so full of heartfelt emotion, yet catchy, which is extremely hard to execute well, and Shane Nicholson’s production really brought this to life. By having it be a duet, it really shows the different perspectives of the individuals which caters to literally everyone and makes the song ten times more mesmerising.

Run Out of Road - Melanie Dyer

Melanie Dyer’s single Run Out of Road has been one of my favourite songs for a while. It’s a feel good, freeway driving, windows down kind of song, which, as a teenager, I live for! It so incredibly catchy, and has elements of traditional country with the dobro steel slide and acoustic guitar licks throughout, just to add the cherry on top!

Square One - Caitlyn Shadbolt

The first time I heard this song, I was basically freaking out. It’s like this song was made for me. The lyrics over the inverted guitar chords puts you in a whole different world and makes you feel so relaxed. The song’s structure is so unique and perfect for the song. The refrain section is so lifting and almost like it’s a whole new song put into the middle of it, which makes it so memorable and unique. I just adore it.

Gone Gone Gone - Casey Barnes

It’s so hard to find words to describe my love for this song, because it’s that good! It takes you places you do not expect to go. The chorus is just mind blowing! The radio effect on the second verses vocals is so clever and adds even more dimension to the song, just when you thought it couldn’t get any more wild. When I saw him play this live, I just couldn’t stop dancing, which is a good sign of a good country song.
