Countrytown is proud to bring you the animated music video for the new single Cleveland by Sydney-based alt-country band, Dave Favours & The Roadside Ashes, in this exclusive premiere.

Animated by Neil Williams, the music video features some easter eggs for Cleveland music fans too.

Comprised of Dave Favours (guitars, harmonica, vocals), Dave Hatt (bass, backing vocals), Aaron Langman (lead guitar, pedal steel) and Mark 'Looch' Lewis (drums), Cleveland is the lead single from their upcoming album, Cheap Motels After Midnight, due for release on April 29.

According to Dave, “I’ve always been a sucker for a song that you can sing along to. This one is my own Ballad of Lucy Jordan moment. I was watching a documentary on Cleveland native, Stiv Bators and there were shots of the town all the way through it. As a young man, I had always wanted to visit this home of some of my favourite artists, but the realisation set in that it may never happen and that you are limited with what you can do during your time here on earth. You think you’ll do it all when you’re young, but the real world ends up getting in the way.”

Cheap Motels After Midnight is the follow up to their critically acclaimed 2020 debut album, Not Your Average Country Band. Dan Favours also has two solo releases – album Wet Suburban Sunday and the EP One Hand On The Wheel.

From May, Dave Favours & The Roadside Ashes will be hitting the road on the national showcase tour, Stanley Records Travelling Medicine Show, alongside Ben Leece & Left Of The Dial, Katie Brianna and Sam Shinazzi.
