The Biggest Songs Of The Year… So Far!

The 2022 Australian mid-year airplay charts have been revealed today, with James Johnston taking the honours for his hit, Small Town – which held the #1 spot for ten weeks on the Countrytown Hot 50 Country Airplay Chart. Raised Like That and Country Boys also made the Top 50.

Casey Barnes, Chris Stapleton, Cole Swindell, Jason Aldean, Jordan Davis, Kaylee Bell, Keith Urban, Morgan Evans, and The Wolfe Brothers each follow with two songs each in the Hot 50 list. Collaborations are also heavily featured, including three in the top 10, the highest being Good Beer by Seaforth and Jordan Davis. 

While females account for less than half of the artists listed, three rank in the top 10 – Taylor Moss at #5, Miranda Lambert at #6 and Taylor Swift at #10. Only Moss’ Get It Girl reached #1 though, with Lambert peaking at #7 and Swift with Chris Stapleton at #2. Interestingly, too, the split between Australian and international artists is 50/50, including in the top 10.
