More Lady A More Lady A

CountryTown in partnership with iHeartCountry Australia is proud to announce Nashville-based trio, Lady A as our Artist Of The Week, following the release of their new album, What A Song Can Do.

Formerly known as Lady Antebellum, Lady A is composed of Hillary Scott (lead and background vocals), Charles Kelley (lead vocals, background vocals and guitar) and Dave Haywood (background vocals, guitar, piano and mandolin).

They have released eight albums to date, including their self-titled debut, Need You Now, Own The Night, Golden, 747, Heart Break, On This Winter’s Night and Ocean. The first three albums are certified platinum or higher, and have produced nine number one singles. The band has been nominated for numerous awards – including ACM Awards, Billboard Music Awards, CMT Music Awards, CMA Awards and a Tony Award nod, amongst others. Lady A have also taken home 7 out of their 14 GRAMMY Award nominations.

Their eighth studio album, What A Song Can Do is a love letter to the fans. Working again with producer Dann Huff, the 14 tracks reinvigorate the band's signature sound – a captivating fusion of rootsy pop and electrifying harmony that has dominated charts for more than a decade.

Kelley says, “We've rediscovered our purpose, and it's to entertain and spread a positive message – I really truly believe that. I want our legacy to be songs that make people feel good. But, I also think there’s more to our story that hasn't been written yet.”

The album features the hit single, Like A Lady (which currently sits at #25 on the Countrytown Music Network Hot 50 Country Airplay Chart), as well as the collaboration Friends Don’t Let Friends featuring Carly Peace, Thomas Rhett and Darius Rucker. Additionally, Haywood steps to the mic for his first-ever lead vocal on the devoted Working On This Love, as it finds him delivering a tender acoustic poem written solo for his wife, Kelli.
