Torch Fest Set To Light Up Australia Again In 2022

Listen Up Music is set to bring Torch Fest to four separate states across Australia in 2022, continuing to shine a light on mental health.

Renowned mental health music charity, Listen Up Music is set to bring Torch Fest to four separate states across Australia in 2022, continuing to shine a light on mental health.

After a huge 2021, which saw Listen Up Music launch the inaugural Torch Fest in Brisbane, and then quickly expand to Sydney and Melbourne, which unfortunately could not go ahead, the award-winning charity is gearing up for a blazing 2022, which is set to include Canberra on their now four-state festival event.

With the significant impact that mental health has on the music industry, especially in recent years, Torch Fest aims to eradicate the stigma associated with talking about mental health by enlisting a huge line-up of artists to play at top-notch venues around Australia.

Co-founder of Listen Up Music, Ali Taylor, states, “Torch Fest; the light that gets you through is Australia's biggest mental health music festival. After a successful launch in Brisbane on 10th April, Torch Fest is expanding out to four regional dates in 2022. Mental health doesn't discriminate, and so we felt it only right to shine further light on the topic, now in four states across the country.”

Starting in Sydney on Saturday 19 February, the first leg of Torch Fest will be held at Max Watts. Set to host 15 artists and 10 DJ's on the day, event-goers can expect a talented line-up including Bec Sandridge, AVA YVES, Imogen Clark, Tiarnie, Laura Hyde, Seb Szabo and more.

Next, the Torch Fest light shines on Canberra at the UC Hub on Saturday 5 March. With performances from Sputnik Sweetheart, The Shang, AZURE, LIV LI and more, it’s sure to be another massive day for the festival.

Landing in Melbourne on Saturday 26 March at Max Watts, Torch Festers will enjoy incredible performances from WILSN, Jess Locke, Alexander Biggs, Benjamin Trillado, Jade Alice, The Mamas, RARIA, Sir Jude, Velvet Bloom amongst others.

The festival’s final stop finds Torch Fest back home in Brisbane, hosted at The Triffid on Sunday 10 April. A stellar line-up including Tori Forsyth, Karl S. Williams, Aspy Jones, Beks, Eimhin, Jess Irvine, Jordan Merrick and Nicole McKinney brings the illuminating event to a shining finish.

Tying the event together, all acts will perform a Torch Song representing the light that has helped them through any hardship and/or mental health challenges. The festival will distribute battery-powered torches to event-goers for them to light up during each Torch Song, recognising the importance of making it through those experiences whilst commemorating togetherness and support.

The festival attracts attendees who want to see their favourite artists in an up-close-and-personal setting, not in a sprawling field with thousands of people, and enables artists and fans alike to feel safe, and be vulnerable if they feel the need, through a unique experience.
