CountryTown is proud to premiere the debut single, Stone Cold Heart by Tamworth singer-songwriter Logan Hoswell as well as its accompanying music video. Recorded with award-winning singer-songwriter and producer, Shane Nicholson, the alt-country song has Logan telling people she won’t be walked over like a doormat anymore.
Logan says, “I’m often too nice to people and it backfires, and when I co-wrote with Jen Mize, we started talking about how I wished I had a heart of stone. I want people to know that it’s fine to be kind but don’t get yourself into situations where you’re walked over.”
The Academy of Country Music graduate has been performing for many years, and is mentored by multi-Golden Guitar winner Lyn Bowtell. She plans to release more singles this year, before releasing her first EP.
Shot by Jeremy Minnett of Eyes and Ears Creative, the music video juxtaposes good and bad with the 19-year-old dressed in white representing purity, and black paint symbolizing all the things that can go wrong in life.
She says, “It was interesting trying to come up with concepts that fit the song. I’m dressed all in white for purity and the black paint are the things that can go wrong and shows that even if I stand up for myself, I’m still me underneath it all.”
Logan also played an important part in country music history when she joined 11-time Golden Guitar winner Beccy Cole (who came out to the public on Australian Story in 2012) and Cole’s wife Libby O’Donovan onboard the first LGBT pride float at the Tamworth Country Music Festival cavalcade in 2020. Following the success of Tamworth’s first pride event in late 2019, the float was yet another milestone for the wider LGBT community.
Logan’s single is out this Friday and available now for pre-order.
