Tropical North Queensland’s Savannah in the Round has added another eighteen country superstars to its line-up, following its first announcement in October last year. The full line-up now boasts more than 40 artists set to perform at the three-day festival over the Queen’s Birthday (1-3 October) long weekend.

Artists added to the bill include Brad Cox, Shannon Noll, Kirsty Lee Akers, Southbound, Rachael Fahim, Missy Lancaster, Will Day, The Roadtrippers, Abbie Ferris, Chelsea Berman, Jake Davey, and many more.

The new additions join John Williamson, Lee Kernaghan, ARIA award winner Fanny Lumsden, The McClymonts, The Wolfe Brothers, Casey Barnes, Jasmine Rae, Darlinghurst, Camille Trail, Busby Marou and The Buckleys, among others. Previously announced headliner, Kasey Chambers will no longer be performing.

“It has been a tough time for everyone over the last year, but Savannah in the Round is committed to making sure Australia has a large-scale country music event in 2021 and we are proud to show the strength of Australia’s great talent pool,” Sound Australia’s James Dein said. “With the capacity to add international talent as borders open, Savannah in the Round will serve the country music community and shine a light on the beauty of the Cains and Great Barrier Reef region, not just in 2021 but for years to come.”

Savannah in the Round is located at Kerribee Park (Mareeba Rodeo Grounds), just 7 kilometres from the centre of Mareeba in the Cairns Hinterland. Its main stage is inside the rodeo area, with a floored mosh pit, camp chair area and tiered outdoor area seating. The festival will also host an Indigenous cultural program, community entertainment, local produce and goods, paddock to plate and a range of accommodation options.

Originally scheduled for the Queen’s Birthday Weekend in 2020, Savannah in the Round was one of the many festivals postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
