Out On The Weekend Returns Tomorrow With An All-Victorian Line-Up

Stuck in Melbourne? Looking for something to do this weekend? Out On The Weekend festival returns to Williamstown’s Seaworks this Saturday 11th with a killer all-Victorian line-up!

Featuring Neil Murray & Band, Georgia State Line, The Cartwheels, Dave Wright & The Midnight Ramblers, Kerryn Fields, Wagons, Ben Mastwyk & His Millions, Lachlan Bryan & The Wildes, Mick Thomas’ Roving Commission, Liz Stringer (making her first appearance, also with her full band), Lost Ragas, Warner Brothers, Sherry Rich & The Grievous Angels and more in what is not only a celebration of Melbourne's love of all things alt-country, folk and Americana, but also a celebration of Victoria's own world class artists working this field.

As usual there’s also a special tribute feature presentation. This year it is The Girl From Chickasaw County, a tribute to the songs and stylings of mysterious ‘60s Southern gothic singer-songwriter Bobbie Gentry, best known for her song Ode To Billie Joe, and featuring a cast that includes much loved artists such as Suzannah Espie, Helen Ryder and Sarah Carroll.

If that’s not enough, they’ve got some of the best local beers and cocktails plus amazing and diverse food selections, all just over the Westgate bridge and only 15 km by road from the CBD.

Also, for the first time ever, they’ll be an Out on the Weekend after party. It's on site at the Acid Country Bar, with a special performance from James Ellis & The Jealous Guys starting 10:30pm. Admission will be an additional fee of $10 charged at the door, and a portion of the ticket sales will be donated to a charity in honour of 3PBS broadcaster, Dave Heard.

Melbourne’s roots music scene is one of the strongest music scenes on the planet. And Melbourne’s Inner West is amongst the most vibrant cultural areas in a city spoilt for choice. So, it is no surprise that the annual Out Of The Weekend festival has become a Melbourne music, food and lifestyle institution since first appearing in 2014.

Out Of The Weekend was initiated by concert and boutique festival promoter Love Police who are known for their role in the much loved out of town Boogie festival and for bringing the likes of Gillian Welch, John Prine and Wilco to Australia. Love Police has introduced music loving audiences to a plethora of diverse music connected by heart, soul and spirit.
