Only Got Tonight by Tahlia Matheson Featuring Chev Wilson – Song of the Day

Our Song of the Day is Only Got Tonight by Bryon Bay-based singer-songwriter, Tahlia Matheson and songwriter, soul, roots and blues powerhouse, Chev Wilson. The soulful, sexy and lustful song shows a more vulnerable and unique side to both artists, bringing out Tahlia's sweet country twang.

Written by Tahlia and produced by Benjy Pocock from Vibetone Recording Studio, the saucy song explores a tale of giving in to temptation, setting the mood for a wild, raunchy romance. A treasure chest of instrumentation, its dark and moody swing invokes sweet chocolate-coated passion and raw emotion.

Tahlia was only eight years old when she began singing, having grown up watching her Dad play in bands. At 16-years-old, she performed at the Byron Bay Blues Festival, and four years later, at The Blue Bird Café in Nashville, Tennessee. In late 2018, Tahlia released her debut EP Wait and See, containing 4 original songs. She released the single, No Thanks I’m Fine back in May earlier this year.

With a bunch of worldwide experience under her sleeve, including songwriting retreats in Nashville and London, Tahlia is experienced far beyond her years. Making a name for herself locally at the Gympie Muster main stage, The National Folk Festival in Canberra, Byron Bay’s Bluesfest and copious local shows up and down the East coast, she has established herself on local soil as well.

Chev is a raw and authentic performer making waves in the Australia music scene. His debut album is one of the many projects he is releasing in coming months. Starting at a very young age, he has crafted his performances to put a smile on the crowds faces and leave them wanting more. A blend of big husky, smoky vocals and mellow acoustic guitar grooves combined with a vast influence of blues, soul, reggae, country music and many other styles, creates unique sound scapes with a little bit of something for everyone.
