As well as launching his new album, 50 Songs 50 Towns, Troy Cassar-Daley will be selling some of his original artwork for the first time.

Cassar-Daley shared on social media, “For the first time, I will have prints of some of my art for sale and other than me singing a set for you we will have Daphne the holden there as the backdrop!!”

Cassar-Daley is a proud Gumbaynggirr/Bundjalung man who comes from a long line of storytellers, and his passion to pen stories about this land and what lies at the heart of it has been a driving force in his career. This is reflected in his paintings, which he created while on the road.

The pop-up exhibition/album launch will take place at The Station, 16 School Street, Fortitude Valley QLD from 7-9pm on August 18. There is a cap on tickets, so be quick! More here.

G’day all, Can’t wait to launch this collection of songs tomorrow , plenty of miles in these recordings literally almost...

Cassar-Daley released his first NFT collection of 8 paintings, titled Back On Country, in July. A number of the paintings are still available for purchase for $340 USD per work.

On the NFT drop, Cassar-Daley said, “I’m thrilled to be working with Serenade and ArtizanX on my release of my Back On Country painting series. These paintings have been inspired by moments in time, and connection to people and country. Being able to make this series available via NFTs provides another medium to share my art and stories.”

As part of Support Act’s Music In The House raffle, two of Cassar-Daley’s paintings (2020’s ‘I Hear My River’ and 2019’s ‘These Are My Children’) are up for grabs along with 17 other prizes.

He says of 'I Hear My River', “The last time I was home to visit my mum, I sat on the edge of my Orara river. I listened and I asked questions. In our culture, our Rivers are our lifeblood. I started this painting when I got home to my family in Brisbane, and the first thing I did was try to paint something that represented the old people and their spirits. Then I traced my river from Nana Glen down through Glenreagh, past Halfway Creek then onto where it meets the Clarence."

With a career spanning over three decades, Cassar-Daley has released a total of eleven studio albums, achieved a staggering 32 number one chart singles, and been awarded numerous accolades including 40 Golden Guitars, 5 ARIA Awards, 3 APRA Song of the Year Awards, plus 2 NIMAs (National Indigenous Music Awards). Furthermore, in 2017, Cassar-Daley was honoured as the 50th inductee into the prestigious Australasian Roll Of Renown.

50 Songs, 50 Towns follows on from the incredibly successful, ARIA Award winning album The World Today. It also follows Cassar-Daley’s history-making 2022 Tamworth campaign that saw him eclipse the late Slim Dusty to become the most awarded artist ever at the Golden Guitars.

Ever in motion, Cassar-Daley is currently on his Together Alone Tour with Ian Moss touring throughout Australia until October. For more dates and details, visit troycassardaley.com.au.
