Perth’s The Muster – Rodeo & Music Festival is coming to the Claremont Showgrounds this April, with a line-up that’s even “hotter than the Western Australian summer”, organisers teased on social media.

And they’re not wrong. With an event headlined by Morgan Evans, The Muster is already a guaranteed great time, but with fellow longtime country greats and the new guard of Australian country – Travis Collins, Beccy Cole, Lane Pittman and Sara Berki – the music is difficult to resist.

In addition to the already-announced acts, Sam McClymont will take on MC duties, while local emerging country artists such as Kate Hindle and Emily Joy will also perform. More acts will be announced soon. Punters can purchase pre-sale tickets soon – register here for access when those tickets are available.

Of course, rodeo is part of this year’s event, and it promises to be a big one, with over 150 competitors locked in for over eight hours of competition. More entertainment, food, contests and merchandise will be revealed as the event gets closer.

Perth’s Muster arrives ahead of Melbourne receiving its first-ever Muster this May.

Situated in Scoresby, the inaugural Melbourne Muster features country music stars Lee Kernaghan and Amber Lawrence, rock band Hoodoo Gurus, Joe Camilleri & The Black Sorrows, Kingwood and more country artists, including Beccy Cole, Andrew Swift, outlaw country artist Gareth Leach, Perth-based Jonny Reid, Taylor Sheridan, and more to be announced.

As well as some of the best Australian live music acts, the Melbourne Muster will include on-site camping and monster truck rides, line dancing, mechanical bull riding, and more activities to be confirmed. You can find your tickets here.

Morgan Evans kicked off the new year by announcing that he’d release a live album recorded at the Sydney Opera House last year.

Detailing the imperfections of the recording, Evans said he’s proud of the “real” feeling captured.

He wrote in an Instagram post, “We recorded the shows at the Sydney Opera House, and I just signed off on the mixes, which will be released as a live album in the coming months. I couldn’t be more proud of the way it sounds and the way it feels. It’s not perfect, but it’s real, and to me, it feels just like it did on stage that night… special.”

Evans continued, “It also feels like we captured the end of an era. And I’m extremely excited that the winding road of the Life Upside Down era has led me here, well and truly right-side-up, and ready for the next one to begin.”
