MacKenzie Porter has announced her highly anticipated debut full-length album, Nobody’s Born With A Broken Heart. The album will be released via Big Loud Records on Friday, 26 April.

Porter became the first female artist since Shania Twain to have three back-to-back #1 singles on Canadian Country radio in 22 years with About You, These Days and Seeing Other People in early 2020. Since then, she earned her first crossover Top 10 on Canadian Pop radio – a first since 2003 for a Country artist – with These Days (Remix) and joined CMT’s ‘Next Women of Country’ class of 2021.

Since then, Porter has been busy, releasing the successful singles Pickup, One Too, Last Girl, Bet You Break My Heart and more between 2021 and last year. It’s been a long time waiting for a full-length from Porter (she shared a 10-track self-titled release in 2014), but fans can hear a 19-track release from the Canadian singer-songwriter and actress this April.

“Nobody’s born with a broken heart,” Porter wrote about the album on social media. “We all start with the naivety and innocence of youth, but then life happens.

“There are so many circumstances and events in a lifetime that can slowly chip away at your heart, and in the end, you’re this beautiful, imperfect, cracked mess. But isn’t that what living really is? If you didn’t have the grit, would you really know the grace?

“That is what this record is about. These songs are those moments in my life. I hope they maybe heal a couple of those moments in yours.”

Accompanying the album announcement is the release of the first four songs: Easy To Miss, Young At Heart, the already-released Bet You Break My Heart, Pay Me Back In Change and the title track. You can listen to the new songs below and pre-save/pre-order the album here.

In November, MacKenzie Porter announced that she was pregnant. Not long after, she revealed that she and her husband, Jake Etheridge, are expecting a baby girl.
