Leslie Jordan To Be Honoured By Lainey Wilson, Maren Morris, Brothers Osborne & More

Several country music artists will honour the life and career of late comedian-musician Leslie Jordan at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville on February 19.

Reportin’ for Duty: A Tribute To Leslie Jordan will feature performances by Lainey Wilson, HARDY, Ernest, Tanya Tucker, Ruby Amanfu, Charlie Worsham, Katie Pruitt, Eddie Vedder, Maren Morris, Brothers Osborne, Brittney Spencer, Billy Strings, Lukas Nelson, Jake Wesley Rogers, Ashley McBryde, Fancy Hagood, Jelly Roll, Danny Myrick and Travis Howard. In addition, Mayim Bialik, Jim Parson, Anthony Mason, Margaret Cho, Max Greenfield, Cheyenne Jackson, Robyn Schall and Leanne Morgan will make appearances.
 
The house band will feature musicians who all performed on Jordan’s 2021 debut album, Company’s Comin’. All proceeds from the event will benefit the EB Research Partnership, an organisation dedicated to funding research to treat and cure Epidermolysis Bullosa. 

Jordan died October 24, 2022, at age 67, following a car accident in Hollywood, California. It was revealed in January that he died of natural causes and not the crash itself. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner found that Jordan suffered cardiac dysfunction prior to the accident, due to arterirsclerotic cardiovascular disease.

Raised Southern Baptist in East Tennessee, the actor was most known for his Emmy Award winning role as Beverly Leslie on the sitcom Will and Grace. He had a role in the 2011 Academy Award-nominated period drama, The Help, and appeared in the third season of American Horror Story opposite Hollywood heavyweights Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, and Francis Conroy. He was also known for his work on Call Me Kat, Will & Grace and The Cool Kids.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Jordan became an Instagram contributor, amassing 5.8 million followers in 2020, and published his autobiography How Y'all Doing? Misadventures and Mischief from a Life Well Lived in April 2021.
