Moore also revealed the thirteen track album will include a duet with Ashley McBryde called One Heartbeat. The collaboration will mark the first studio album of his that has ever included a duet.

Moore told Billboard in January, “I’ve been pushed to do collaborations on records because of the trend of what it’s doing, but I’ve always said it will happen when it happens.”

He also shared that the idea for the duet started organically, in Alaska, when they started talking about new music while backstage while on tour together.

Moore said, “[McBryde] asked if I had written anything that I really love recently, and I started playing One Heartbeat. When I finished the first chorus, she grabbed the headstock of the guitar and stopped me. She said, ‘What is that, and can I sing on it with you?’ I said, ‘Hell, yeah,’ and brought her in to sing on it. She’s the best. She’s one of my favourite people on the planet, and she felt like a sister after we did that tour together.”

Last year, the duo performed Janie Blu at Moore’s Ryman Auditorium show in Nashville.

Moore’s re-recorded version of his current radio single, Crazy One More Time, will also appear on the yet-to-be-named new record. The song originally appeared on his 2012 album, Up All Night.

He added, “It’s going to flow perfectly with the rest of this new record. It’s no secret that there is a lot of rock music in what I do. Crazy One More Time, the new version, really displays that, and I’ve always been able to straddle that line of country elements with a lot of rock arrangements… This album feels like a visual piece, like you’re watching a movie from start to finish.”

The upcoming album is expected to be released later this year.

It will follow his fourth studio album, 2020’s Wild World, which features the lead single She’s Mine as well as Payin’ Hard – a song inspired by the death of his father, which occurred right before the release of his debut album. The album peaked at #4 on the Australian ARIA charts.

Wild World Deluxe was released the following year with four additional songs
