Kip Moore has revealed that he’s departing his longtime record label, MCA Nashville, and releasing his sixth album completely independently.

Moore made the announcement earlier this week (18 March), sharing a series of studio photos and a caption that detailed his latest move. Moore has spent the last ten years of his career with MCA Nashville.

“I’ve been extremely grateful for the opportunity to make records on a label like MCA over the last 10 plus years,” Moore wrote on Instagram. “They’ve been such a top-notch team and I’ve been so lucky to have had the freedom through the years to do it my way.”

He went on to give a shoutout to his MCA promotional team, including Luke, Mike, Cindy, Brian, and “good hair Joe.” Moore also thanked “all the staff behind the scenes,” including Sarah Obama.

The Some Things singer continued, “I can’t say enough about the rock stars each one of you are. You work tirelessly, I appreciate all you do and did.

“I’m not sure where I’ll end up (currently having those discussions & entertaining new deals), but in the meantime, doing a record completely independent for the first time in my career has been something I can’t put into words. Get fucking ready slowhearts…#6 is coming”.

Kip Moore released his fifth album, Damn Love, last April.

It’s been a big week for Moore, who recently revealed that he’ll return to Australia “before the end of the year”.

No official announcement has been made yet, but Moore appeared on screens at last weekend’s CMC Rocks festival and encouraged fans to follow CMC socials.

“CMC, what’s happening, guys?” Moore asked. “This time last year, we were all hanging out together. I was in Australia to play my headline set on the Rebel Stage, and, man, I’m missing you all right now.”

He continued, “I wish I could be there so much, but I promise you I’ll be back to see you before the end of the year. So, make sure you’re watching CMC socials next week for more news. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, be safe, I’mma see you guys soon. Cheers.”

Moore last played in Australia in 2023. He performed at CMC Rocks and the Dittman Bull Country Music Festival, as well as sideshows in Melbourne and Sydney.
