New Zealand-born, Nashville-based country singer Kaylee Bell’s star is set to rise even further, as she’s just been nominated for three awards at her home country’s Aotearoa Music Awards.

Bell has received recognition in the Te Tino Waiata o te Tau | Single of the Year category with Boots N All—where she’s up against the likes of Stan Walker, The Beths and Coterie, as well as Te Tino Reo o te Tau | Best Solo Artist (a category she shares with Marlon Williams) and Te Manu Taki Tuawhenua o te Tau | Best Country Artist alongside Matt Joe Gow and The Mitchell Twins.

The 2024 Aotearoa Music Awards will be held at Auckland’s Viaduct Events Centre on Thursday, 30 May.

Responding to her nominations, Bell wrote on Instagram, “Stoked to be nominated for three Aotearoa Music Awards this year and get to be part of the announcement this morning on the AM show with fellow nominee and friend Paige ✨ Thank you Lloyd and Mel for having us on TV this morning AM.”

Bell’s award nominations arrived after she released her new album, Nights Like This, and just wrapped up an expansive tour of New Zealand.

Earlier this month, Bell revealed that two dates on her upcoming debut Australian headline tour have already sold out—Brisbane with special guest Melanie Dyer and Melbourne with special guest Jay Santilli—with the Sydney date starring special guest Max Jackson selling fast. Bell will perform in Australia on 23, 24 and 25 May.

This June, Kaylee Bell will fly the flag for New Zealand at Nashville’s CMA Fest.

Since being crowned the 2013 Toyota Star Maker, Bell has become the Australasia region's Most Streamed Female Country Artist, amassing over 40 million streams. She’s the first Independent Female Country Artist winner since Kasey Chambers to be awarded ARIA Gold for her 2021 The Red EP, which features the chart-topping The Voice-famous Keith – which Bell sang to Keith Urban himself.

Keith became a global hit last year, gaining more than 60 million TikTok plays and over 20 million Spotify plays. It hit #12 on the US Billboard Charts for Country Digital Sales and spent five weeks at #1 on the Australia Country Radio Official chart.

“To make the Billboard charts in the US is behind my wildest dreams, and to do this as an independent and self-managed artist with no label, etc., just means that this song is genuinely connecting with people, which is the best part,” Bell told Countrytown in October.

“All I’ve ever wanted to do was make music that connects with people and play live, and this is reassurance that I am on the right path.”
