Headbanging Horse Reacts To Country Music

A Canadian racehorse named Pretty has gone viral on TikTok, even catching the attention of CNN thanks to her hilariously energetic reactions to heavy metal music.

However, a recent TikTok of her reacting to country music also made its way to Loudwire – her owner, Autumn Purdy, responded to a follower who asked if her horse also enjoyed country music. How does Pretty feel about the world-dominating tones of Morgan Wallen?

In the video, Purdy plays Wallen’s hit Last Night for Pretty over a loudspeaker. In her stall, the horse walks towards the back and doesn’t react to the song. Once Purdy changes the music to something a little more familiar, like Domination by Pantera, Pretty walks to the front of the stall, faces the camera, and headbangs as the riff kicks in.

In an interview with CNN, Purdy said that metal songs are Pretty’s go-to for headbanging music. Purdy noticed that Pretty would headbang to heavy music, but as soon as the songs stopped, so would she. You can watch the CNN interview here.

Pretty’s favourite band is Slipknot – there’s a clip of her letting loose to the band’s NSFW track Custer – but she also enjoys a slow headbang to Motorhead, an overly excited headbang to Rammstein, and likes Drowning Pool, Disturbed and Rage Against The Machine. In some videos, Purdy even ranks the quality of the headbangs.

Pretty isn’t the only animal vibing to heavy music. Last year, a large dog named Storm snuck into a Metallica concert at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. 

As the band wrote in a social media post about their newest fan, Storm and her family live adjacent to the stadium. Storm had a barking good time at the Metallica concert and was reunited with her family the following day.

“Despite reports to the contrary, our friend Storm snuck out of her home adjacent to SoFi Stadium and made her way to the gig all by herself,” Metallica wrote.

Storm, the queen of our hearts, “had a great time listening to her favourite songs, including Barx Æterna, Master of Puppies, and The Mailman That Never Comes.”

The band added, “And in case you were wondering, no. You definitely shouldn’t bring your furry friends to the #M72 World Tour. But this dog sure did have her day…”

Despite Pretty’s reaction to Wallen, he’s still easily the most popular country artist in the US and Australia.

In Australia, Morgan Wallen is the fifth most streamed artist on Spotify behind Taylor Swift, Drake, The Weeknd and Ed Sheeran.

Wallen is the biggest star in country music right now, with Last Night announced as the biggest country radio hit in Australia last year and his most recent Australian tour breaking records.
