Country music could become the next hot thing on The Voice UK, with a recent report claiming that music legend LeAnn Rimes is rumoured to sit on a big red chair and coach aspiring singers on the show.

According to a new report published in The Sun, Rimes is a front-runner to replace British singer Olly Murs, who claimed he was “blindsided” by being let go from the show following last year’s season.

“LeAnn is meeting with ITV about possibly joining The Voice UK as a coach, it's very early days but they think they could carve up a good deal,” a source told The Sun.

They continued, “LeAnn is an incredible talent, and her record of awards and record sales speak for themselves. ITV thinks she would make an incredible coach, and LeAnn is excited to see if she can make it work with her schedule.”

A spokesperson for ITV added, “We will be confirming the line up for The Voice UK 2024 in due course.”

If Rimes does end up on The Voice UK, her appointment will follow Reba McEntire, who replaced Blake Shelton on the US version of the show.

Earlier this week, LeAnn Rimes took to Instagram and shared an update with her fans after having surgery for cervical dysplasia.

Informing fans that she was sharing the experience because she thought “it’s an important reminder to get our annual screenings in order to catch changes that may be taking place within the body early on,” Rimes wrote, “several months back, I had my annual pap smear, which came back abnormal.”

The Can’t Fight The Moonlight singer continued to explain that she’s dealt with abnormal pap smear results since her late teens. After a recent scan revealed high-grade cervical dysplasia, she underwent a LEEP procedure to have any pre-cancerous cells removed.

Giving her fans some advice at the end of her post, Rimes wrote, “I’ve always been open about my health challenges, and this time around is no different. So, ladies, please don’t put off getting your annual pap. my men, too… make sure you get your annual physical, minus the pap smear”.
