To the surprise of nobody following country music trends in the US, the uber-popular music genre has dominated the end-of-year round-up Spotify Wrapped.

It’s official: Morgan Wallen’s track Last Night was the most streamed song on Spotify in the US and the second most streamed track in Australia. In the Top 10 Albums Globally Chart, Wallen’s One Thing At A Time has reached sixth place, wedged between MAÑANA SERÁ BONITO by Karol G and Lover by Taylor Swift.

On the US most streamed artists chart, Wallen has come in at #3, only behind Drake and Taylor Swift. Zach Bryan comes in at #8. As well as Last Night topping the most streamed songs in the US chart, Taylor Swift appears at #6 with Cruel Summer, Zach Bryan’s Something In The Orange at #7, and another appearance for Wallen with You Proof at #8.

Wallen appears twice in the US most streamed albums chart, with One Thing At A Time at #1 and Dangerous: The Double Album at #5. Taylor Swift makes three appearances on the chart with Midnights (#3), Lover (#6) and Folklore (#8).

In Australia, Morgan Wallen is the fifth most streamed artist on Spotify behind Taylor Swift, Drake, The Weeknd and Ed Sheeran.

Notably, this year’s controversial country hits, Try That In A Small Town by Jason Aldean and Rich Men North Of Richmond by newcomer Oliver Anthony, didn’t make a dent in Spotify’s top ten artists, songs or album charts in the US.

Wallen is the biggest star in country music right now, with Last Night announced as the biggest country radio hit in Australia this year and his recent Australian tour breaking records.

Countrytown’s live review from Wallen’s concert at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena declared, “When Wallen came on stage, the noise of excitement filled the stadium. He then delighted audiences with a 25-song set including You Proof, One Thing At A Time, Sand In My Boots, This Bar, More Than My Hometown and more. He also performed a cover of Jason Isbell’s Cover Me Up as well as a medley of Dangerous, 7 Summers, Silverado for Sale and Still Goin’ Down.”
