CMC Rocks Nominated For World’s Best Festival At ACM Awards

CMC Rocks has received the international recognition that country music festivals could only dream of.

This morning, the Queensland-based country music festival revealed that, along with US and Mexican events Carolina Country Music Fest, Crash My Playa, Tortuga Music Festival and Windy City Smokeout, CMC Rocks has been nominated for Festival of the Year for this year’s ACM Awards, hosted by the Academy of Country Music.

Responding to the news, CMC Rocks organisers posted on social media, “HUGE NEWS! We’ve been nominated for Festival Of The Year at the ACM Awards!! We’re so proud to be on this list with some of the biggest festivals in the world!”

The 59th Academy of Country Music Awards (ACM Awards) will return to Prime Video and Amazon Music’s Twitch channel as the ceremony takes place at the Ford Centre at The Star in Frisco, Texas, on Thursday, 16 May 2024.

Luke Combs leads this year’s ACM Awards with an incredible eight nominations, with his cover of Fast Car leading to a first-time nomination for Tracy Chapman.

Megan Moroney and Morgan Wallen—who was recently arrested—follow with six nominations, while Lainey Wilson, Chris Stapleton, and Cody Johnson have received five nominations. Meanwhile, first-time ACM Awards nominee Jelly Roll has received nods for four awards along with Jordan Davis.

This year’s CMC Rocks festival was headlined by Lainey WilsonTyler Hubbard, and Chris Young, with a wide slate of other heavyweight names joining them. Countrytown’s highlights from this year’s event can be found here.

Next year, Queensland’s—and Australia’s—favourite country music festival turns 18, and it’s sure to be a special one. CMC Rocks confirmed its return last month, announcing that it will take over the Willowbank Raceway in Ipswich from Friday, 21 to Sunday, 23 March 2025. The line-up will be announced later this year.

CMC Rocks Festival Director Jeremy Dylan said about the event’s return, “The festival has grown so much in these ten years since we first made Willowbank our home, we are excited to return once again next year and we’re hard at work for making it the biggest and best CMC Rocks yet!”
