Due to popular demand, South Texas-born singer-songwriter Charley Crockett will play a second show in Melbourne with his long-time razor-sharp band The Blue Drifters, bringing their honky-tonk blues and folk tunes to the Northcote Theatre on Monday 6 March.

Following on from the success of his acclaimed and award-winning 12th album, The Man from Waco, Crockett will deliver his deep American country with The Blue Drifters for his inaugural must-see-to-believe Australian tour.

Crockett and The Blue Drifters recorded The Man from Waco live-to-tape, resulting in a collection of original songs about a fictional Western story inspired by Crockett’s pals and heroes.

He released the album in September 2022 through his own label, Son of Davy alongside Thirty Tigers. The Man from Waco immediately climbed to the top of the US charts, owning the #1 spot on Americana radio for weeks.

Oozing Americana, Crockett’s country looseness is lush and as timeless as classic tales of outlaws on the run and filled with cowboy ballads that smoulder like a campfire.

He’s a distant relative of Davy Crockett and has played music on the streets of New Orleans to Dallas, hitchhiking with his guitar and riding trains in the style of Woody Guthrie. You can hear these stories from the road and street in his songs, somehow capturing that sweet spot between country, soul, folk and blues that dives deep into America and its music.

Joining his Australian tour will be Sydney’s very own alt-country queen Caitlin Harnett & The Pony Boys, who will play alongside Crockett in Brisbane, Melbourne and their hometown in New South Wales.
