Carrie Underwood, Black Pumas, Mickey Guyton To Perform At CMT Music Awards

Originally scheduled to air on April 3, the change in date for the Grammy Awards led the CMT Music Awards being pushed back to April 11.

Carrie Underwood and Mickey Guyton with Black Pumas join the already star-studded line-up of performers pegged to take the CMT Music Awards stage next week (Monday, April 11).

Priscilla Block, Parker McCollum, BRELAND, Caitlyn Smith, Jessie James Decker and Elvie Shane will also perform from the Ram Trucks Side Stage.

Previously announced performers include Little Big Town, Keith Urban, Kelsea Ballerini, Kane Brown, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Old Dominion, Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd, Carly Pearce, Cole Swindell and Lainey Wilson. Plus mother-daughter duo, The Judds will reunite for the first time in more than two decades to perform their hit Love Can Build A Bridge.

In addition, the six finalists for ‘Video of the Year’ have also been revealed. The CMT Music Awards is country music’s only fan-voted awards show, and country music fans used their votes to cull the night’s top category of 'Video of the Year' from 12 to six. Those who made the cut are:

CMT have also introduced an all-new, socially voted category honouring superstar hitmakers who have cemented their status in music history with classic songs that withstood the test of time, and have found themselves the catalyst of recent social trends as their hits still resonate with fans old and new: ‘Trending Comeback Song of the Year.’

Fans can vote for their favourite nominees by swiping up on CMT’s Instagram Story through Saturday, April 9th. The winner will be announced across CMT’s social platforms ahead of the 2022 CMT Music Awards. 

The following seven superstar acts are nominated for ‘Trending Comeback Song of the Year’:


Ballerini and Marvel Cinematic Universe actor Anthony Mackie will co-host the two-hour award show on Monday, April 11 when it is filmed live from Nashville, Tennessee.
