Following last week’s report that the inaugural Boardwalk Country Music Festival had been cancelled due to unclear circumstances, Countrytown has received confirmation from the promotor that the upcoming April shows will be rescheduled to November/December.

One World Entertainment, the promoter of Boardwalk Country Music Festival, issued this statement:

“Due to the new and evolving logistical challenges of touring in a post-pandemic world, we have sadly after much debate been forced to reschedule the Australian April tour dates to much later in 2023. We are so sorry to disappoint all our fans who have already bought tickets for these shows. We are really looking forward to seeing you later this year, when we launch BCMF bigger and better than ever. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding.”

Ticketing providers will be in contact early next week in regard to refunds. A discounted presale rate will be available to customers who sign up to the website to receive the offer.

There has been yet no mention if the November/December shows will feature the same line-up and/or if the festival will still visit nine cities across the country.

The festival – which was poised to become an annual music event on the Australian country music calendar – was meant to see International GRAMMY nominated artists Jimmie Allen and Gavin DeGraw along with Australian favourites Lee Kernaghan, Kasey Chambers, Busby Marou, Shannon Noll, The Wolfe Brothers, Casey Barnes, The Buckleys and Darlinghurst take the stage.

Boardwalk was marketed as “a mix of classic and contemporary country” that was to showcase “some of the most celebrated names in both the Australian and International country music scenes”.

With shows set in Queensland, South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales in various locations, with food trucks and pop-up boutique bars, Boardwalk was the place to be.
