After less than two weeks since going on sale, the inaugural Boardwalk Country Music Festival has been cancelled. The circumstances around the cancellation are unclear, but fans are disappointed to lose the one-day events that were to visit nine cities across the country, so soon after its announcement.

The festival – which was poised to become an annual music event on the Australian country music calendar – was meant to see International GRAMMY nominated artists Jimmie Allen and Gavin DeGraw along with Australian favourites Lee Kernaghan, Kasey Chambers, Busby Marou, Shannon Noll, The Wolfe Brothers, Casey Barnes, The Buckleys and Darlinghurst take the stage.

Ticketek issued a cancellation notice this morning:

“It is with regret that One World Entertainment announces the cancellation of the Boardwalk Country Music Festival scheduled for April 2023. Due to unforeseen circumstances all Australian shows are being cancelled.”

All ticket holders will be automatically refunded in full to the original payment method. Patrons should allow approximately 30 business days for the refund to appear in their account.

Boardwalk was marketed as “a mix of classic and contemporary country” that was to showcase “some of the most celebrated names in both the Australian and International country music scenes”.

With shows set in Queensland, South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales in various locations, with food trucks and pop-up boutique bars, Boardwalk was the place to be.
