Off the high of his win at the recent Golden Guitar Awards for ‘Male Artist of the Year’, Andrew Swift has announced his third studio album, Lightning Strikes and Neon Nights.

As Swift describes the new release, “I’m very excited about sharing this next chapter of my career with everyone. This record is, overall, more upbeat than my previous albums, spending more time on electric guitar than acoustic.”

He adds, “The title, Lightning Strikes & Neon Nights, is a great way to summarise this collection of songs. The ‘Lightning Strikes’ are the stories about finding moments of love and romance while the ‘Neon Nights’ are more influenced by a good night out.”

Collaborating with new and familiar faces such as Phil Barton, Travis Collins, Tenille Townes, Gretta Ziller, Taylor Moss, Alys Ffion and his girlfriend Simone Sordello, the album has a more overall contemporary feel to it than past Swift releases.

Due for release on April 28, the album, produced by Matt Fell, features the hits Young Lovers, The Good Old Days and the new single, You and Me And a Bottle Of Whiskey.

He describes the new single, “The first notes of You and Me and a Bottle of Whiskey were sung to me on the drive to Tamworth by my girlfriend, Simone Sordello. She was playing me a few songs she’d been working on, and I begged her to let me finish writing this one with her the moment I heard it. It’s a song that ticks the boxes of a rowdy sing along song.”

The song features gang vocals with fellow music industry contemporaries including Amber Lawrence, Bill Chambers, Andrew Farriss, Justin Thomson (KIX Country), Dan Davidson, Cass Hopetoun and more.

This album follows his highly successful album, The Art Of Letting Go, which debuted #1 on the ARIA Australian Country Album Charts and was the 5th highest selling Australian Country album of 2021. His first album, Call Out The Cavalry, debuted at #1 on the ARIA Australian Country Charts and garnered 2 x Golden Guitar awards.
