To celebrate the release of Thomas Rhett’s sixth studio album, Where We Started on April 1, the country superstar has teamed up with Amazon Music for an album launch event. The show starts at midday AEDT on April 2 (or 11am AEST) with a Twitch pre-show hosted by Kelly Sutton and Amber Anderson, hosts of the Country Heat Weekly podcast.

Rhett says, “I’m so pumped to celebrate the release of Where We Started this Friday with Amazon Music. Whether you’re here in Nashville or anywhere else in the world watching virtually, I’m thankful to collaborate with the people at Amazon Music to help us reach as many of you as we possibly can. The show is really, really special to me and full circle in so many ways–can’t think of a better way to celebrate together!”

Rhett recently previewed the track, Death Row, written by Rhett with Ashley Gorley and Zack Crowell. That single features Tyler Hubbard and Russell Dickerson and was inspired by their visit to a men’s prison in Tennessee. The album also includes the hit Slow Down Summer.

Inspired by his return to the road – after foregoing live fan-filled arenas across the globe for his living room in Nashville like so many – Where We Started marks a similar return to Rhett's in-the-moment mix of tempo, transcendent romance and tip-of-the-spear sonic trailblazing, as country’s resident good-life philosopher shakes away a year-plus of off-stage dust.

Rhett says, “For me, getting into the entertainer headspace and back onstage was euphoria. When you go a year and a half without it, then feel it for the first time again, it’s the coolest thing in the world. That’s really where my brain has been and where these songs came from - they’re some of my favourite songs that I've ever been a part of. I’m just enjoying life so much right now, getting to be a dad, collaborating with incredible artists, playing shows with my friends, and watching people smile from the stage. It has really filled my soul.”

Featuring 15 songs, all but one co-written by Rhett, the project highlights his signature infusion of country tradition with kinetic romantic energy. Mixing raw, unfiltered joy with his uniquely personal, small-town Shakespeare writing —with producer Dann Huff returning alongside co-producers Jesse Frasure and Matt Dragstrem —the project also enlists superstar Katy Perry.

Fans can also celebrate the album’s release on April 4 with iHeartCountry and YouTube.

Where We Started follows Rhett’s chart-topping project, Country Again: Side A.
