More Miranda Lambert More Miranda Lambert

Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter, Miranda Lambert is among the many artists who will appear on Dave Grohl’s upcoming honest, humorous and emotional TV series, From Cradle to Stage.

In an ad that aired during the 56th Academy of Country Music Awards in the US on Sunday night, it was revealed that Miranda and her mother, Bev Lambert, will appear in the series that explore each artists’ upbringing and the tools they received as a young talent to survive the turbulence of success.

As well as fellow country music artist, Brandi Carlile, other artists participating in the six-part series are Pharrell Williams, Imagine Dragons lead singer Dan Reynolds, Rage Against The Machine’s guitarist Tom Morello, and Geddy Lee, lead vocalist and bassist for the rock band Rush.

Directed by the Foo Fighters frontman, the show is based on a book that his mother, Virginia Hanlon Grohl, published back in 2017 called From Cradle to Stage: Stories from the Mothers Who Rocked and Raised Rock Stars. In the book, Virginia interviews the mothers of 18 music stars, shedding light on what it's like to raise a creative child who becomes a star, as well as sharing elements of their own stories. Miranda also features in the book alongside Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, Zac Brown, the late Amy Winehouse and more.

Dave says, “I believe that the relationship between a musician and their mother is so important because it’s the foundation of their understanding of love, which is surely every artist’s greatest muse. Having the opportunity to travel the country and tell the stories of these amazing women behind the curtain not only shed some light on the music that they inspired, but also made me appreciate the love that I was given from my own mother, my best friend. It goes without saying that we are all indebted to the women who have given us life. For without them, there would be no music.”

The series will premiere in the US on May 6th. No word yet on if the series will air in Australia.
