While unusual music collaborations are not a new concept (in fact did you know Dolly Parton recorded Sweet Lovin' Friends with actor Sylvester Stallone for their 1984 comedy Rhinestone?) recently there’s been an increase in country artists poaching artists from other genres. From Keith Urban and Pink, Adam Brand and Casey Donovan, Carrie Underwood and John Legend, to now Miranda Lambert releasing a single with Exes and Ohs pop-star, Elle King.

Lambert teased the collaboration with a photo on social media with the caption ‘#DRUNK’. The photo sees King in a wedding dress with a beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other and Lambert in a metallic pink gown, crystal accessories and teased hair with baby's breath embellishment.

King also took to her socials with a photo of two wearing suits, Lambert in mint green and King in powder blue writing: ‘The whiskey goes down better when they don’t know who you are... #DRUNK’.

King previously opened for Lambert on her Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars Tour in late 2019, and the two won the 2020 ACM Award for 'Music Event of the Year' along with tour mates Maren Morris, Ashley McBryde, Caylee Hammack and Tenille Townes for their cover of Elvin Bishop’s Fooled Around and Fell In Love.

King also teamed up with country superstar, Dierks Bentley on his #1 Different for Girls single in 2016.

The single, Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home) is set for release this Friday, February 26.
