Like A Lady by Lady A – Song of the Day

Our Song of the Day is Like A Lady by Nashville-based trio, Lady A (formerly known as Lady Antebellum), comprised of Hillary Scott, Dave Haywood, and Charles Kelley. Written by Hillary, Michelle Buzz, Martin Johnson, Brandon Paddock and Dave Barnes, Like A Lady is an 80s-tinged shot of female empowerment.

The single leads the band’s yet-to-be-named forthcoming album, the follow-up to 2019’s critically-acclaimed Ocean, which features their tenth number one hit, What If I Never Get Over You.

Lady A says, “We've written a lot of songs together over the last year that we can't wait to share with you but when Hillary sent us this one, we knew right away we wanted to lead with it. This song reminds us of the unparalleled energy of the live show—something we miss every single day and can't wait to do again as soon as we can! We hope this song makes you want to get up, let loose and dance!!”

Lady A has released eight albums to date, including their self-titled debut, Need You Now, Own The Night, Golden, 747, Heart Break, the Christmas album On This Winter’s Night and Ocean. The first three albums are certified platinum or higher, and have produced nine number one singles. The band has been nominated for numerous awards – including ACM Awards, Billboard Music Awards, CMT Music Awards, CMA Awards and a Tony Award nod, amongst others. They have also taken home 7 out of their 14 GRAMMY Award nominations.
