The full program schedule for BIGSOUND 2023 has been released, alongside the news that more than 50 new speakers were added to the conference lineup.

The roster now spans a mighty 111 names, including heavyweight artists like Alex The Astronaut, Kate Miller-Heidke, Camp Cope’s Georgia Maq, Gordi, Ziggy Ramo and Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda, plus representatives from industry staples like Spotify, triple j, Rolling Stone, APRA AMCOS, TikTok and SXSW. Head here to see the full list of speakers.

Also detailed were a handful of the key events that will make up this year’s BIGSOUND program, such a masterclass from Omar Grant (ROC Nation Records) and Karyn Rachtman (an acclaimed film producer and music supervisor) that will fill attendees in on how to develop music for TV, film and video games. Other sessions sure to get neurons firing include panels on AI, adaptive entrepreneurialism, and the future of the music industry.

This years edition of festival – set to run over September 5-8 at its spiritual home of the Judith Wright Arts Centre (JWAC) in Meanjin/Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley precinct – will begin with a Smoking Ceremony in the Brunswick Street Mall, followed by the official BIGSOUND Opening Ceremony (hosted by Brick Lane Brewing Co) at the Fortitude Music Hall.

As usual, there will be a packed slate of industry parties and delegate showcases, with key happenings including Live Nation’s Ones To Watch event, the UNIFIED Music Group’s annual soiree, birthday bashes from OzTix (turning 20) and the Mushroom Group (turning 50), and of course the Amazon Music-hosted BIGSOUND After Hours events.

Speaking of events with stellar live music lineups, special international artist showcases will come courtesy of Kartel Musik and Musik Iz The Motive (Canada) and the NZ Music Commission (New Zealand). And as always, the festival will end with the explosive BIGSOUND Closing Party, once again co-presented by us here at The Music alongside our good mates at Secret Sounds.
